Prison Ministry- Alpha
As part of RUBEMA’s growth strategy of forming healthy synergic linkages with diverse Christian groups with different approaches to doing the work of God in the great commission, the Missionary group played host to Alpha – a christian group which originated in the United Kingdom more than thirty years ago, functioning in prison ministry world wide.
About Alpha
The Alpha team led the Rubemites through a series of presentation on the conduct of prison ministry. Having gained adequate knowledge about Prison Ministry from the Alpha team, RUBEMA commenced practical prison ministrations in the city of Lagos - one is these is the weekly ministrations at the Female wing of the Kirikiri prison. What is Alpha? A 10-week session exploring the Christian faith, where several questions are answered with regards to the "whys" and "hows" of Christianity.
Why Alpha?
Alpha provides an informal, yet effective platform for individuals to learn the deep secrets about Christianity. It also teaches participants skills and techniques to appropriately preach the gospel in the prison.
